So I'm doing something really exciting tomorrow.... Once a month www.wonted.co.za holds a competition for one of their lucky subscribers to stand in line to win a date/ chill session with 5 celebrities all at once and I'm one of them! So stoked!! I can't wait to meet the winner tomorrow... I'm also excited about chilling with the other celebs that they've chosen to be a part of this. They're really awesome personalities and I've interacted with all of them at some point so no need for introductions when we all meet there. And I really genuinely like them so ey man, I'm looking forward to having a great time!! :)
"Taking place at the much talked about Liquid Chefs in Rosebank on Thursday 31st March." <------------- Liquid Chefs has actually become one of my favourite chill spots, I really like the atmosphere there.
Here's what WONTED had to say about each of us
The panel this month is:

Some of the things that have been cracking me up lately are definitely all the Chuck Norris jokes that people come up with.Apparently started appearing on the internet in early 2005. 4.Giraffes were created when Chuck Norris uppercutted a horse!
5. Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird.
6.Chuck Norris can play the violin with a piano.
7.When God said "Let there be light', Chuck Norris said " say please'

I hope some of these made your day!! :)
Smile.... God loves you

Eyeshadow of NOTE!
So earlier on in the week I received an e-mail from a friend of mine.. opened it and I was so amazed at what I saw that I had to call all the women in the office to see it!! I mean, the excitement I felt could only be understood by women who love make-up... ( and I do believe it's actually most of us, some more than others , but fact is ... we love it)!!
This is what the e-mail said before I opened the pictures:
"Check this out! Wow!
How often have you been late for a function due your spouse or
girlfriend saying that she needs to do her makeup?
This must have been designed by a man.
Now ladies no more excuses. "
And I agree!! If this is really possible... if there is a man out there who designed this amazing way of doing make-up, I say Puh-lease show yourself and share this with us....!! If it's out there! I WANNA HAVE IT! I GOTTA HAVE IT!! I NEED TO HAVE IT!! NOW!!! Oh pwetty pwease may I have it?
Here goes nothing..
Now if these are photos that someone decided to 'create' ... I think he/she is a very mean person!! This is amazing!! Made my week... definitely...

The Power Of The P
THE POWER OF the P!!!
I have no idea what the power of the P is... lol...
I found the big 'P' online and thought it looked cool!
It could be the Power Of Pearl? No?
The Power Of Paper! as in money? yeah?
The Power Of Peace..? sounds cool enough.
The Power Of a Parachute ? Well, if you're gonna skydive , you better make sure that damn thing works!
Ok, settled.. I'll go with The Power Of A Parachute!
That's what the P is for!
Here's what the dictionary definition of a parachute is - A parachute is a device used to slow the motion of an object through an atmosphere by creating drag.
I'm wishing you a parachute-free week!!
So that nothing slows your motion down and gives you a bit of a drag...
It's at this moment when it's ok to sky-dive without a parachute...
Have a productive one!
This Tuesday sure feels like a Monday...
God loves me and He sure as hell loves you too!

Smokey Eyes
Saturday the 19th of March was the YFM new line-up photo shoot. This is basically an annual photo shoot to update photos from the previous year. There's a different theme every year and obviously with different themes we have different make-up!
This year we decided to go with the smoky eye for me because it went perfectly with my look, which I can't say much about until the photos are up on the YFM website...I'll keep you updated.
No matter how hard I try, I can never get the smokey look right! It's either too dark or it ends up looking like a big bruise! Not a good look, trust me!
Luckily I didn't have to do it myself, I had Merlene Williams ! She did all the make-up for the photo shoot. She's worked on my face before, for a shoot I had with LoveLife magazine and for the Craz-e Billboards so I knew I was in very good hands!
Here are some of the pics I took.. the make-up was not complete yet. I just want you to see the smokey eye... I love it.
You need to obviously tone it down a bit, this was just for a photo shoot.
Smokey eye with a smile....
Smokey eye with a pout...
Smokey eye with eyes closed
There you go! And ladies as with any look you want to go for.. there are rules when it comes to rocking the smokey eye... if you're gonna go smokey on the eyes...go nude on the lips... Heavy eyes accompanied by heavy lips... no! no! it's not a good look.
I'm currently watching a lot of make-up tutorials on YouTube so I can learn how to do my own smokey eye properly.
You can also do the same...

Well done Lee-Roy !!!!
This is Lee-Roy Wright. A very good friend of mine.. even to this day I can't remember how we became so close! I love him with all my heart and I wanna take this moment to congratulate him on his new venture!! He signed a 3 year recording contract with David Gresham records! For as long as I've known him, he's always dreamt of being a musician and now here he is!!
I am so proud of him! He's definitely proof that dreams do come true. After having his whole family move up to Jo'burg from Uitenhage for him to live his dream, it was definitely worth it... you can also catch him on Craz-e (e.tv) on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30pm...it will be 4pm from April 2011( exciting stuff!!). He's also a radio DJ on UJFM 95.4 weekends 6 - 9pm AND he's part of the ground Patrol team on Highveld 94.7 ...AND he's a student at the University of Johannesburg AND he's a really great friend.. I'm so blessed to have him in my life...
Lee-roy and I ready to shoot Craz-e World Live on e.tv
Lee-Roy in studio! I can't wait 'til he finishes his album! It's gonna be kick-ass!
I'm his number one fan!! :)
Adele - Someone Like You
I am really feeling Adele's vibe right now!
This is one of my favourite tracks from her latest album titled 21 (this is how old she was when she recorded it, she is now 22 years old)!
Here are the lyrics if you want to sing along, I'm still learning them myself!
I think in some way or another, if you have been in a relationship.. a really special one.. you can definitely relate .
SOMEONE LIKE YOU
I heard
That you’re settled down
That you
Found a girl
And your
Married now
I heard
That your dreams came true
I guess she gave you things
I didn’t give to you
Oh friend
Why you so shy
Ain’t like you to hold back
Or hide from the light
I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn’t stay away I couldn’t fight it
I hoped you’d see my face and be reminded
That for me
It isn’t over
Nevermind
I’ll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best
For you too
Don’t forget me
I beg
I’ll remember you still
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead
http://www.hotnewsonglyrics.com/adele-someone-like-you-lyrics.html
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead
Yeah
You know how the time flies
Only yesterday
It was the time of our lives
We were born and bred
In a summer haze
Bound by the surprise
Of our glory days
I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn’t stay away I couldn’t fight it
I hoped you’d see my face and be reminded
That for me
It isn’t over
Nevermind
I’ll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best
For you too
Don’t forget me
I beg
I’ll remember you still
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead
Nothing compares
No worries or cares
Regrets and mistakes
And memories made
Who would have known
How bittersweet
This would taste
Nevermind
I’ll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best
For you too
Don’t forget me
I beg
I’ll remember you still
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead
Nevermind
I’ll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best
For you too
Don’t forget me
I beg
I’ll remember you still
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead
URRGGHHHHHH!!!!
So it's 12:32pm on a Monday.. it's a public holiday today. Human Rights Day! My heart is shattered! This is after constructing and typing out a blog entry that came straight from my heart!!! I was seriously pouring my heart out....and it all just disappeared. I was done writing and was reading it once more before publishing the post when all of a sudden I pressed a button (dunno which one) and all the words just disappeared!!
I can't bring myself to writing it again..it's not gonna be the same...ah man, this is so frustrating! I finally put some time aside to blog and this is what happens! I guess it wasn't meant to be published, I guess I just needed to get it out of my system and let it go! I guess it all happens for a reason!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! Ok, I feel better now...NOT!

The mayonnaise jar and two cups of coffee
This piece has tremendously changed my view on life and the things that take first priority in my life.
Someone sent it to me via e-mail and I hope it touches you the same way that it touched me.
Here it is....
A professor stood before his. philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and started to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured it into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes'.
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
'Now', said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - spirituality, family, children, health, friends, and favourite passions. Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the things that matter like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff'.
'If you put the sand into the jar first', he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you'.
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play with your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.
There will always be time to clean the house and fix the dripping tap. Take care of the golf balls first -- The things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'
So, when things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.
Lots of love
Pearl

True Beauty
TRUE BEAUTY
First of all welcome to my blog and thank you for joining me. I’m all about fun times, inspiration, motivation, growth and getting to know you better. Every month, I will share my thoughts on anything really. I will also give you the opportunity to share yours too for a chance to win great cosmetic hampers (for guys and girls), courtesy of AVON cosmetics. Yeah, I’m quite chuffed about that too!
So… something caught my attention this week. It’s a TV series called True Beauty in which contestants are competing to see who the most beautiful person. However, they think they are only being tested on outer beauty. The show is hosted by 3 judges who judge the contestants on their inner beauty!
I decided to look up the definition of ‘beauty’ in the World English dictionary and next to the word was this:
Beauty (bjuiti)
n , pl -ties
1. the combination of all the qualities of a person or thing that delight the senses and please the mind.
2. A very attractive girl or woman.
I’m not really feeling the 2nd definition so I’ll go with the 1st one and I’ll tell you why.
This is because standards of beauty are always evolving and we all have our own ideas of what outer beauty or ‘attractiveness” should be based on. One person may find you attractive and the next person may not. The concept of beauty differs from person to person.
That does not mean you’re not beautiful though, it just means that you just don’t fit their standard….But why should it be about them and what they think?
What is important because it remains so constant is inner beauty! You define it, you decide what yours should consist of and because you have such control over it, you decide which bits you will expose, when, to whom and how.
Outer beauty presents a standard of comparison and it can cause resentment and dissatisfaction when not achieved. God is fair because he gives everyone their own unique beauty. So do not think of yourself poorly or wish to be someone else because you don’t fit the description of the‘ideal’ beauty, instead embrace your personal beauty and be happy with your inner being which consists of a lot of characteristics that nobody can take away from you including grace, elegance, personality, individuality, integrity and ________ (add a characteristics that you possess).
I have learnt to love myself with all my physical flaws ( believe me I have many, I’ll share them with you some other time). In an industry where you are constantly judged, based on what you look like and what you’re wearing, the only way I could love them was for me to first love and be happy with my inner being. I had to know, accept, and appreciate who I am and what I stand for….Inner beauty is the most valuable thing you could ever posses.
I found this poem online and I immediately fell in love with it.
I have edited some bits coz it was damn long!
The important bits are in though so it doesn’t take anything from the poem.
It’s by Candice George:
BEAUTIFUL
I am beautiful
Not only because of the curve of my hips
Or the shape of my body
Not only because of the fullness of my lips
Or the curl of my eye lashes
I am beautiful because I want to be
I am beautiful because I have a heart
And that is a beautiful thing
I am beautiful because I have a brain
And that is a beautiful thing
I am beautiful because I give advice
And that is a beautiful thing
I am beautiful because I have confidence
I am beautiful because I have determination and wit
I am beautiful because I have goals and I plan to reach them
I am beautiful because I am always there to lend a helping han
If you don’t find beauty within yourself, it is not because it is not there, it is because you only choose to see what the world sees at first glance…inside you lies a beautiful man or woman just waiting to be loved and embraced.
So if you were part of the TV series True beauty, and you already knew that you were being judged on inner beauty, how would you let your inner beauty shine through? Simply put – what according to you really constitutes as true beauty?
Let me know and you could stand a chance to win cosmetic products courtesy of AVON / Justine.
P.S : Make-up should be used to help you feel better and enhance the great features that you already have!!
